We need to accept the price of diesel is quite lower than the biodiesel in most of the countries. This statement is a fact beyond doubt if you deduct the tax applied on the petroleum diesel. There are few advantages of the biodiesel. Like lowest possible sulfur and highest possible CETANE value. But that can be overlooked by a common man at the time of purchase. This is what drives the diesel so crazy and same is what happened in India before. The feed stock selection and purchase become very crucial. We have few options left for economic biodiesel production. We have to consider and try for some out of the box solutions for biodiesel feed stock.
