Dr. David L. Perez M.D. is a faculty member in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He has clinical and research interests in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry, particularly Functional Neurological Disorders including Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures, Functional Movement Disorders and Functional Weakness (paralysis). Dr. Perez's research focuses on using advanced functional and structural neuroimaging techniques to identify neural biomarkers of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment response in Functional Neurological Disorders and other conditions at the intersection of Neurology and Psychiatry. Dr. Perez works closely with colleagues at the MGH/HST Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. Dr. Perez is a dual trained neurologist-psychiatrist, and is a member of the Cognitive Behavioral Neurology, Memory Disorders and Neuropsychiatry Units at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Perez has been primarily interested in Behavioral neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Frontotemporal dementia, Functional Neurological Disorder, Conversion Disorder, Psychogenic Non-Epileptic, Seizures and Functional Movement Disorders.
