Ortega has recently joined the University of Miami Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence headed by Dr. Kottil Rammohan as an Instructor of Clinical Neurology. Dr. Ortega received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Miami and then attended the University of Miami School of Medicine where she graduated with her medical degree. She went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine followed by her Neurology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee where she served as Chief Resident her senior year. She has now returned to the University of Miami as a board certified neurologist where she is currently involved in treating patients with multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunologic diseases as well as medical student and resident education. Her research interests include cognition in multiple sclerosis, treatment efficacy in multiple sclerosis and symptomatic treatment in multiple sclerosis.
