Biography
Dr. Basu is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Public Health at East Carolina University. Before joining ECU, she was with Department of Healthcare Management Leadership at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Basu received her PhD in health economics from Washington State University. Her research examines the economics of aging with a particular interest in the areas of long-term care delivery and financing. Dr. Basu’s work also investigates the importance of healthy lifestyle behavior in prevention of chronic illness, social determinants of health and the value of health economic evaluation in public health and healthcare decision-making.
