Rod Swenson

Dr. Swenson is a Board Certified Neuropsychologist who specializes in understanding and evaluating the relationship between brain disorders and behavior. Through a variety of techniques including interviewing, administering, and evaluating neuropsychological tests, he is able to determine areas of the brain affected by disease or trauma. Dr. Swenson provides state-of-the-art diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of a wide range of conditions including brain injuries, strokes and various neurodegenerative disorders.
Dr. Swenson received his doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. He completed an internship in Neuropsychology at Boston V.A. Medical Center, Mass. He established Neuropsychology Associates, an independent practice in Fargo ND to provide quick access and personalized care for both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Swenson is a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology as well as a Fellow in the American College of Professional Neuropsychology. Research interests include studying neuropsychological aspects of dementia (Vascular Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease) as well as Impact Biomechanics as it relates to Traumatic Brain Injury. He holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Neuroscience at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Swenson is active in teaching medical students, residents, and graduate psychology students and was awarded in 2008 with the Dean’s Recognition Award from the UND Medical School for his commitment to teaching.
