Biography

 May 2010: Associate Professor in Health Promotion. March 2008 to Present: Chairperson of Postgraduate Students Committee in the School of Public Health and Community Development. Responsible for the academic matters affecting Postgraduate students in all the four Programmes in the school including applications, admissions, submissions of Proposals and Theses to SGS and selection of Board of Examiners for students’ theses. Jan. 2008 to Present: Member of Maseno University Gender Committee Feb. 2004-Nov. 2005 Director of the School of Public Health and Community Development. Maseno University. Responsible for administration, campus - community partnerships. Responsible for overall co-ordination of the Public Health activities in the rural community partners. 2002 to Present - Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Community Development, Maseno University. Teaching Health Promotion and Public Health Nutrition. I am responsible for developing partnerships with rural communities and identifying the activities that can improve rural population health. I work mostly with women and the youth in rural and slum communities. 2002 to Jan. 2003: Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of MPH Program in the School Public Health and Community Development - Maseno University I was and still responsible for developing partnerships with rural communities and identifying the activities that can improve rural population health. 2001-to 2002: Lecturer and Head of Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics in the Faculty of Health Sciences--Moi University 2000 to 2002: Coordinator of Public Health Nutrition in the School of Public Health - Moi University. 1998 to 2000: Lecturer in Nutrition, Child Health and Development Moi University 1998 to 2002 Coordinator of Community Nutrition and Part-time Lecturer in Community Nutrition and Research Methods- Tropical Institute of Community Health and Development (TICH)- Kisumu October 1990-September 1993. Moi University Department of Home Science and Technology Head of Home Science and Technology Department- Moi University -Kenya Lecturer in Nutrition and Community Health. Taught Nutrition Child Health, Care and Development. I was in charge of departmental administration as well as coordinating and supervising students’ Nutrition Research Projects October 1993 to July 1998: Study Leave in U.K. for my PhD Studies
