Clinical Features of the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Disease in Patients at a Movement Disorders Center

Beyond the susceptibility linked to older age, it is unknown if SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) patients with mobility problems are at a higher risk for more serious outcomes than the overall COVID-19 population. The demographics and clinical outcomes of individuals examined at our Movement Disorders Center who tested positive for COVID-19 between March 8 and June 6, 2020, were gathered through the evaluation of electronic medical records and telephone interviews. Thirty-six patients were found, with a median age of 74.5 years, 23 men, and 13 women. The majority of them (n=22, or 61%) and the remaining (n=7, or 19%) had diagnoses of atypical parkinsonism and idiopathic Parkinson disease, respectively.
