Evaluation of Blood Profile in Patients with Oral Lichen Planus Compared to Healthy Subjects

Background: Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is a chronic autoimmune, inflammatory disease. Previous studies have shown the association of this disease with changes in several blood parameters. This study aimed to conduct a comprehensive study and determine the status of blood parameters of OLP patients that previous studies had shown conflicting evidence of changes. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 59 patients with OLP (case group) were compared with 60 healthy individuals (control group). Subjects’ blood profile was analyzed for Hemoglobin, Serum Iron, FBS, HDL, LDL, Cholesterol, Triglyceride, T3, T4, TSH, blood group and RH antigen.
