    Primary Peritoneal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma: A Rare Case and Literature Review

    Background: Primary peritoneal carcinoma is epithelial tumor. Histologically, the most common type is primary peritoneal serous carcinoma, which almost occurs in women. Another rare subtype is Primary Peritoneal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma (PPMA). To date, only few cases of PPMA occurring in male patient have been published in English literature. Here we described another rare case of primary peritoneal mucinous adenocarcinoma in a male patient. Case presentation: We report an 82 years old male patient with the chief complaint of abdominal pain for more than a month without associated symptoms of nausea, vomiting, ascites, and weight loss. Peritoneal cytology and immunohistochemistry reported peritoneal carcinoma of intestinal origin.
