Claudio Solaro was born and raised in Liguria, a region situated on the Mediterranean Sea in north-western Italy. Dr. Solaro received his medical degree from the University of Genoa in 1992, completed his residency in neurology in 1996 and his residency in rehabilitation medicine in 2006. We works at the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Society headquarter from 1996-97. He received a fellowship from the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Society for the period of 1997-1999 to coordinate an epidemiological research in the province of Genoa. He also received a fellowship from the University of Genoa in 1999-2001 in order to study symptomatic therapies in Multiple Sclerosis. Since 2001 he has held a position in the Department of Head and Neck-Neurology Unit ASL3 Genovese in Genoa where he coordinates the MS outpatient clinic. Dr. Solaro has participated in numerous clinical trials in MS, has been awarded various research grants, acts as a reviewer for peer-review journals and has numerous publications in the field.
