Biography

DrFatai Salawu is Consultant Neurologist at Division of neurology at Federal Medical Centre Yola, Nigeria. He trained in Internal Medicine and Neurology at University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri, Nigeria. He is Fellow of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP), Fellow of West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP). He had clinical attachment in clinical neurophysiological studies at Shands Medical Plaza, Neurology Clinic of University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. He has European certificate in Epileptology from Berlin. He is member of European Neurological Society (ENS), now European Academy of Neurology (EAN), American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and World Stroke Organization (WSO). He is on the Editorial board of the Open Acess Journal of Neurology and Neurosugery. He is peer-reviewer to over twenty-five renowned journals and has presented over thirty neurology papers at international conferences. He has published over sixty-five articles in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Neurological Sciences and Oman Medical Journal. He chairs the hospital research ethics committee and continuing medical education. His interests include stroke, dementia, epilepsy and tropical neurology.
