Formerly cooperating researcher of the Berlin Social Science Research Centre (WZB) and lecturer at the Public Health School at the University of Chile in Santiago. Since many years lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences of Magdeburg-Stendal, since 2015 deputising professor at Health Sciences Department of the University of Fulda, Germany. Main research topics are societal as well as economic effects of health protection as well as myths and truths in the health policy debate with a special focus on out-of-pocket payments and moral hazard, as well as health services research with special focus on rural health.
