Michael Galea

Prior to joining the University of Malta in 2010, Dr. Galea worked in education and as a psychologist with various entities locally. He is also a visiting lecturer at St. Martins Institute of IT, University of London.
Michael worked in various settings and countries, including Kenya, East Africa, in a London hospital, UK, in the United States, and Malta.
His academic pursuits consisted in reading for M.Th. at the University of London, and for an M.Sc./Ph.D. at the University of Loyola, MD, USA, where he focused his doctoral dissertation on childhood trauma in Malta.
He regularly contributes to local seminars and conferences. He is also well versed with refereed journal articles and international conferences. He is a reviewer and member on the editorial board of a number of journals.
His current research interests focus on the value of psychology of religion and positive psychology.
