Petros Efthimiou, MD, is the Chief of Rheumatology at Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Rheumatology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Efthimiou graduated from the University of Ioannina Medical School summa cum laude and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University and a fellowship in Rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery/ Weill Cornell Medical Center. Prior to his current position, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Rheumatology clinic at New Jersey Medical School, UMDNJ.
His research interests include the pathophysiology and management of autoinflammatory syndromes, especially adult-Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD), as well as the use of targeted treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and the inflammatory myopathies.
