Pradeep K Panda

Dr. Pradeep K. Panda is an economist and a demographer by training and has been associated with academic and action research in the areas of health services research and policy, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and human development for the last two decades. He has held positions at the economics department of the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and Centre for Development Studies, Kerala where he was engaged in teaching and research. He has also contributed to applied research at the National Council of Applied Economic Research and the Population Council, New Delhi, and at the Institute for Rural Research and Development, Gurgaon, where he was Director of Rural Research. He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals in development studies and public health. In his current role of Director of Research and Implementation, Dr. Panda coordinates the research and project implementation activities of the Micro Insurance Academy, New Delhi, and specifically leads a team of researchers and project managers for the impact assessment and implementation of community-based health insurance schemes in India and Nepal.
