Shobhana completed her post-graduation in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Pune University, India. She has been teaching Psychology in Fergusson College for last 36 yrs at UG and 14 yrs at PG level. She is recognized Ph.D. guide of Pune University. She worked on Board of Studies of Pune University from 2005 to 2010, and played a key role in bringing applied aspect in curriculum. She is also a member of Board of Studies of St. Mira’s College for Girls (autonomous college) since 2009 and of Symbiosis College (autonomous college) since 2013. She has worked on various committees at Pune University, e.g. Local Inquiry Committee, Selection Committee, Examination, Syllabus Revision Committee, Subject Expert for Ph.D. Entrance Interviews and Pre-Ph.D. Registration Presentation, etc. She has 14 book publications (co-author); and 26 research publications at national and 6 at international level to her credit. She presented papers in national and international level conferences. She has vast experience of aptitude testing and career counselling. She is a founder member of D. E. Society’s autonomous PG Course in Counselling Psychology. In 2006 she Started “MAANAS: A Center for Psychological Testing and Counselling”, in Fergusson College. She is Founder Coordinator of master programme at Fergusson College. She has been Associate Editor of the International Journal of Health, Wellness & Society (California) in 2011. She is recipient of Zenith Trust of India’s “Most Popular Teacher Award - 2006”, India International Friendship Society’s “Rashtriya Gaurav Puraskar – 2011” for meritorious services, outstanding performance, and remarkable role in the field of Psychology, and “Award for Distinguished Innovative Work in Research” at the international conference of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, held at Ahmadabad, in 2014.
Shobhana is a member of various committees at S. P. Pune University, e.g. Local Inquiry Committee, Selection Committee, Examination, Syllabus Revision Committee, Subject Expert for Ph.D. Entrance Interviews and Pre-Ph.D. Registration Presentation, etc.; and at college level, e.g. IQAC, Time Table Committee, Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee, Library Committee, etc.
