Dr. Hottel has a long record of accomplishment in the dental field. He has held many key positions such as Director of Statewide Oral Health Initiatives, Dean, Executive Assoc. Dean & Academic Dean to name a few. His recent academic titles include Professor, Department of Prosthodontics and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He received his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University where he simultaneously earned an M.S. in biomedical engineering. To compliment his administrative and business roles, he also earned his M.B.A. and D.B.A. He continues to be active in teaching, research and publications in the areas of dental materials, needleless drug transport and various areas of dental education. In addition, he is involved in helping dentists with practice purchasing, selling and operational/business issues.
