Child Abuse Peer Review

Child abuse or child maltreatment is physical, sexual, and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child or children, especially by a parent or a caregiver. Child abuse may include any act or failure to act by a parent or a caregiver that results in authentic or potential harm to a child, and can occur in a child home, or in the organizations, schools or communities the child interacts with. Physical abuse involves non-contingent harming of a child by, for example, burning, beating, or breaking bones. Revilement involves harming a child by, for example, deprecating them or threatening physical or sexual acts. Emotional trauma can result from several forms of abuse. Studies show that one in four girls and one in eight boys are sexually abused afore the age of 18, and that approximately one in 20 children are physically abused each year. Child sexual abuse is the deliberate exposure of a minor child to sex or sexual activities that the child cannot comprehend or consent to. This demeanor includes acts such as inopportune physically contacting of a child's breasts or genitalia, someone exposing their genitalia to a child, fondling, oral-genital contact, genital and anal intercourse, as well as exhibitionism, voyeurism, and exposure to pornography. Child abuse is illicit and should be reported. The top online publishing journals publish articles which are cited as references by many authors in their work.
