The COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates is a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) resulting from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first confirmed case inside the United Arab Emirates was announced on 29 January 2020. It was the first country within the Middle East to report a confirmed case. The first affected person, a 73-year-old Chinese lady, was released on 9 February after getting better. The first two deaths had been confirmed on March 20. On 22 March, Dubai started out an 11-day sterilisation campaign as an attempt to contain the coronavirus. Night time curfew becomes imposed 4 days later while the country began disinfection. College closure become first announced on March eight for 4 weeks. 3 weeks later, it was announced that college may be closed till the end of the academic year.
