Hemostasis

Hemostasis is the process of arresting the bleed from the injured blood vessel. The hemostatic system of the body helps to arrest the bleeding irrelevant the injury may be minor, major or large scrape or a deep cut requiring stitches. It needs combined activity of vascular, platelet and plasma factors. Due to excessive bleeding or thrombosis it leads to hemostatic abnormalities. There are several regulatory mechanisms which include Inactivation of procoagulant enzymes, Fibrinolysis and Hepatic clearance of activated clotting factors. When the hemostatic system does not stop the bleeding, it may mean a person has a disorder of hemostasis, also known as a bleeding disorder. Journal of Blood Disorders & Transfusion comes up with the articles related to this topic making papers freely available online provides the readers, researchers and the scientific professionals with the most current peer-reviewed scientific information and discoveries. Translation to more than 50 languages makes the scientific information available to common man.
