Sciatic Nerve

Pain radiating along the sciatic nerve, which runs down one or both legs from the lower back. It's usually caused when a herniated disc or bone spur in the spine presses on the nerve.Pain originates in the spine and radiates down the back of the leg. Sciatica typically affects only one side of the body.Medication for pain and physiotherapy are common treatments.

Avoid jerking, bouncing or twisting during the stretch, and try to hold the stretch for at least 30 seconds. Over-the-counter medications. Pain relievers such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) and naproxen sodium (Aleve) are sometimes helpful for sciatica.
