Knee replacement, also called knee arthroplasty or total knee replacement, is a surgical procedure to resurface a knee damaged by arthritis. Metal and plastic parts are used to cap the ends of the bones that form the knee joint, along with the kneecap. Total Knee Arthroplasty is a very common method for the treatment of knees having arthritis. This method has become very reliable and effective for the osteoarthritic patients. These methods have also allowed the doctors to treat such patients in a more effective and reproducible way. Previously, knee surgery or knee transplantation was a challenging task for the doctors and other licensed professionals because there are several problems involved with the concerned diseases.
