Evidence-based clinical practice (EBCP) is an approach to health-care practice that explicitly acknowledges the evidence that
bears on each patient management decision, the strength of that evidence, the benefits and risk of alternative management
strategies, and the role of patients' values and preferences in trading off those benefits and risks.
Aim:
1. To help participants advance their skills in critically appraising the literature.
2. To help participants advance their skills in incorporating EBM in clinical decision making.
Specific Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, the participant should be able to answer the following questions:
1. What is evidence-based medicine
2. How to formulate an answerable clinical question in relation
to different clinical tasks (Therapy, Diagnosis, Etiology and
Prognosis)
3. What research methods and designs are appropriate as
evidence for various clinical tasks
4. In which databases or websites you can we find a valid
and scientifically sound information to answer patient
care questions?
5. How to critically appraise the literature for validity and
applicability.
