Hemofiltration is a purely convective therapy that, for chronic dialysis, is usually delivered using on-line machine systems. Hemofiltration is currently not as widely applied, but considered by many to be the most physiological therapy because of its convective nature providing the best hemodynamic stability during dialysis. On-line Hemofiltration is best done in predilution mode with high substitution volumes.
