It is also referred as primary ovarian insufficiency. It is a condition in which ovaries are not able to function normally before menopausal age i.e., 40 years, resulting in not able to produce estrogen hormone and release egg. The common symptom is infertility. Women with POF may have occasional periods and may get pregnant.
